Sponge?

Hi!

I wanted to ask if sponge is an implemented block on the server. I got one from a player, and it works (I made an underwater tunnel with it). Last I checked the minecraft wiki, you couldn't get sponge and even if you had one it wouldn't work. The player I bought it from said it came out of a stronghold. I know I can trust him because we're in the same class in RL.

If this block is indeed hacked or something like that, I will turn it in.

It shouldn't be obtainable. Who did you get it from? It is against the rules for cheating, and if it was a supporter then it is also against the rules to give out items

No it does matter. If someone is giving you items without permission from an admin, then they are at risk of being banned.

Sponges were never disabled. They work for me when I made my ship. But back to the question, how did you obtain the sponge(s)

All right. sorry for the late response, but I couldn't get to the site this morning for unknown reasons.

The story of Danarvus:

So, I checked on creative, and sponge does not work. so either there is a plugin for sponge on the server, or it just does work on SMP.

This is the beginning of an epic search for the truth. Are there admin pranks in the game? Is Herobrine involved? Have the gods of firetop put a plugin on the server? Or was it all a lie? Only time will know!!!

There is no way to obtain a sponge from survival that I know of. A player with creative had to of given it to you.

The sponge is a type of building block added in the update to 0.0.19a client update on June 20th, 2009.[1] The sponge was a temporary fix to stop water from flooding until finite water was implemented.[2] It was also used as yellow for pixel art before yellow wool was introduced.
Since Beta 1.8, the sponge block is available for use in Creative Mode, but it doesn't function. Sponges are unobtainable within survival mode unless inventory hacks or mods are used.

so how can it work in survival/multiplayer? I dont have it anymore because I went on a suicide mission with it to get rid of it.

It will work in any gamemode, it's just impossible to obtain it.

Well, I am pretty 100% sure that it does not work in single player creative.

But more to the point, how the heck have danarvus and supersjonnie gotten their hands on sponges? I trust them completely!

Is it possible to hawkeye some months back?

It does work in sp. I had to use them a while back to make my boat.

They either had a staff member give it to them, or a supporter. In the case it was a supporter, the supporter will be demoted, and possibly banned.

And no, it isn't. The records of hawkeye got deleted while trying to get rid of lag
