Idk. I just downloaded it myself, and I don't like it whatsoever, it's very ugly and sorta takes away the "nostalgia" feeling that the Minecraft launcher had before if that makes any sense. I think this is for like mods and stuff, or maybe something to do with 1.6 that Minecraft couldn't do before, like resource packs? I dunno, I don't like it >:C

theres an thingy where u change between versions. well thats all i realised about the new launcher
 
This whole launcher is useless, I'll just stick to 1.5.2, until they get enough complaints and turn it back to the way it was before.
