hi there,

i was looking arround on the bukkit website, and found a (maybe) very usefull plugin.

I heard some people talking about hacked accounts on the serv, so this maybe helpfull.
The plugin checks the ip and matches it with the name of the player, so it is not possible that someone enters the serv with
a hacked account. it is also possible to add multiple ip's.

we have something similar with Easyban. when a play is banned, it automatically bans the ip associated as well.

right now easyban is being a pain, so we do have to do it manually with /banip and /ban...

If 2 people are on the same ip (two players in the same house), and one of them gets banned, both players will be banned.

It's harsh, yes, but this also makes you accountable for your actions to your housemates as well. Hopefully this will also discourage griefing/rule breaking.

I remember I banned someone who shared the same IP's with about 2 other acc's (his friends???), I IP banned one, they all got banned. They all got mad at me. Hey, I banned the guy. They should be mad at the guy held responsible

Proxies are prohibited and will get the IP address banned, which is possible.

well, i got hacked now 2 times with other ip, and that guy isnt banned? weird... blayde, not to upset you, but plz read the discription of the tool better, it has nothing to do with easy ban. this plugin can be used to protect the higher ranks in the server, if an admin gets hacked, or even more worse, the owners account, it is more damaging than a normal accounthack

Cubi, i did read the plugin description. i still feel that its redundant with the plugins we already have.

then plz tell me what plugins we have to protect users from getting hacked? i just wanna tell u guys that there are ways to protect accounts more then only with a password. it is just not enough only to use a password anymore. it is not my intention to promote only this plugin, it was just the first one i found that adds more security to an account then only the password

cubi i find one thing wrong with this. what if i want to play at a friends house.So basicly i can only play at my origonal home aka were i was the first time i logged on this plugin would add lots of sercurite to accounts but would stop me playing firetop as much as i do.

it is possible to add more then 1 ip on a name with this plugin, and not evryone has to be listed in the program to join so it can be used to protect only the admin accounts. but this plugin is just an example, im sure there are other options to protect accounts better from hackers.

If u can add it to just the admin and owners accounts then this plugin. Could be very helpful
