I have tried to make my very own server many times, but it has never worked well. It wouldnt be a big server like firetop. It would be a server for like 20 max. I have a lot of ram so that's not a problem. Can someone show me a good video or just instructions on how to make a bukkit server easily, and what are some good plugins for it.

Hello,

There are many steps on how to make a Minecraft server. or any kind of server. also depending on what kind of functionality or gameplay server you want. I was thinking of recording a tutorial on how to do it.

Though I dont know if that would be useful at all or if anyone would care on how to make a fully functioning server.

I want a server for justme and my friends and I guess if people for firetop wanted to join they could also, but it wouldnt be a top 100 server type thing lol and Joel yea you could do one and put it on the YouTube channel. Lol more great reasons for it everyday

how do you port forward ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

Lol thanks Joel. And it's cool Ive made one before that I could join but none of my friends could join...

The reason your friends cant join is because yuor server was not "Internet facing"
Like deadmau5 said, You need to port forward. Which is to do with your router. like when you type 192.168.1.1 in your brower to get to the router settings.

I may make a 15 minutes video on it all tonight if i have the time.

To be honest I like running hamatchi more because I can use passwords, And that works great for private servers

... My last server used hamachi, and it was a pain for my friends, because they weren't so smart with tech and so yea you can fill in the rest

ta im starting to see that now. but till i ditch bell ( My ISP) im stuck with Hamachi

Hey Climax,
u coukld get a great step by step tutorial on how to make a server on:
wiki.bukkit.org
P.S. it also contains how to make everything on the server including plaugins and stuff.i used the tutorial on how to make a server and it worked greatly, but the only problem is that
it doesnt inxlude how to portforward :(

Sorry I havent responded to this in a while with an update ,but i got my server up and running. It has 4gb of dedicated ram, and I port forwarded, and a lot of plugins (including-permissionsEX, multiverse, world edit, and more) I don't understand logblock though. It says I need a MySQL account but I dont know what that is...
Overall though the other day when paulland tried to join and couldnt i found the problem, I had my firewall settings on -_-. So really all i have to do now is get my permission nodes set out, which is a pain..

I can help with that. :P

Lol, i do joel! I would like to know how to port fordward though. That is the main problem i am having ATM

Search port forwarding on YouTube, it's really easy lol
No it isnt. I have spent 3 months in utube and i still cant solve or even guess how to do it.

Oh well I guess I'll type it out for you-_- lol jk

#1- Open your command line. You can do that buy going to your start menu and typing cmd.
#2- After that type in the command line: ipconfig
#3- Find in that long list of stuff- default gateway and I think the IP4 (correct me if I'm wrong)
#3- Open your Internet browser, and in the address bar, type your default gateway address. It will always start with this-192.168.1.[last number here]
#4- A pop-up will appear asking you for a username and password. I know the linksys username is- admin and the password is- admin . If you don't know your password, just search "default router password for [your router here]"
#5- After you get into your router "page" look for a tab with a title of "Port Forwarding" or something about gaming.
#6- After you get there look for a line to open a port. It should say "Name" or "Application," which is what you identify the port as. It will also say "start" and "End" which you should type "25565" in both. Then it will say something about protocol, and just leave it on both. The ip address is your ip4 address that you saw with your default gateway, so just type that in there. After that enable it :) .

Hope I helped! Lol
