Can we turn PvP back on in Main World or Old?

Can we turn PvP on in Main World or Old world? I'm not sure if there is such thing..But maybe there is something that prevents people from picking up people's stuff? But uh..Just a suggestion?​

I went on a server and if you did /backpack 9 slots showed up.You put your most wanted items in there and when you die? Do /backpack and get your stuff back

Doing that would make minecraft very easy. Is better just to make a pvp world where you arent in danger to fall to death every single second.
