About earning staff.

Hallo. I'm working on another server with some peoples, and the owner is suggesting that staff ranks is bought. Like, let's say we find a good player who might deserve mod or something, they'd have to pay to the server to get the rank. Personally, I'm not sure this idea will go too great.. but, what do you guys think? Would it be a better idea to donate to the server in order to get a staff rank or by simply earning it?

by earning it becuase griefers and power hungry people can just log in vuy staff then destroy the server conpletly

I dont think you should let people buy staff rank, it might lead to a massive admin, mod grifing spree:/

Worst idea ever,
it just seems like a money scam. anyone can be a "decent" players, buy staff and mess things up. Here, think about it like this:
In a job interview, do you pay the manager to give you the job?

I've actually seen something close to it on servers!There are certain ranks (which arent staff of course) which are bought with IN-GAME money!There could be more than one rank or there could only be one which has a kewl prefix/title.
The cost of the rank is decided and then it is announced to the community.
Suggested names for ranks:
1.Lord
2.Baron
3.etc..

I personally think it's a really cool idea for the community server! But then again,these ranks MUST not have staff permissions and are not considered anything near staff!Just filthy rich people

Donator ranks are bought on the forums to go no the server, lol.

Maybe you can make it like ftg u can buy ranks (not huge ranks) or earn if your really desperate than buy it if not wait for your turn that's my opinion

This seems like a terrible idea to me. People would pay ranks and end up being OP players that don't even help the other players. Staff are chosen by the owner and looked over by the admins because they know what to look for in staff. If you can buy staff the you don't have the Super Staff Team everyone wants.

Oh, yeah, I should let you know I'm no longer staff on there. I think I was like, owner with him, but I decided the server sucks and isn't going anywhere all that great, like the owner too.. :I

The owner was gamernerd0 by the way. I don't even know if he's still working on the server..

Ya some faction servers have like ranks and u earn money buy selling stuff then when u get enough u do /rank up and u get the next rank
