I have my own server now! (sorta)

I have a newly made server but i have no idea what to do now.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Plus, I need to know how to become op. And a plugin list would be nice!
My server is Hamachi.

Hello,

To become op, simply type into the console "op DragMeh" and then you will become operator on the server. You can also simply edit the ops.txt file and add yourself to it. To add plugins, you need to get Bukkit and then simply add the plugin jars (desirably ones that are up-to-date) from Bukkit's website.

Please remember we have a no advertising rule, which means players can not post their server IP for others to join publicly.

Dear Aareo-named person,

The only necessary plug-in in the ones you previously mentioned is essentials.
Iconomy isnt necessary at the beginning,it is at some point though.
Hawkeye needs a DATABASE and it is a kinda hard thing to have at the start of a server-hosting journey,so personally i believe it is not to be installed until the server is well set and will be so soon open for public.
I also think that xAuth/Authme is more necessary than iconomy if you are going to be hosting a Cracked server.
And one of the most important plug-ins is ofcourse the well known WORLEDIT.
Also having a rank and group maker on your server is really essential,not at the beginning,though. (It allows you to make ranks like Owner,Admin,moderator,etc... and set their permissions)

This means you have to either port forward or keep on trying ports and hoping to get lucky and find an open
port

well Joel,
dragmehbwas asking for a plugin list that would be useful to start a server up with,which means that he wants the most simple basic and useful plugins.
HAWKEYE is extremly complicated if ua re trying o run it
on a normal computer using Wamps.

Agreed. It may be complicated but hosting a server is complicated. Its not exactly just drag and drop the Bukkit jar and start. theres more then that, And if you wanna host a server you have to do that stuff and get used to it.

I totally agree with you Joel,but a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step (or smth. like that xD) So i think he should just take it step by step

I agree I would like to get a public server running, but I can't because I don't know how to get a MySQL server working for AuthMe and LogBlock. Any help would be appreciated
