Well.. not a virus, but something i'm really mad about. So I get on my computer today and see this:

. Its saying that my computer is at 100%, so I take the cord out and litterly about 1 minute later i get this:

I'm wondering if really the only thing I can do would be to replace the battery? Because if I do... well screw this computer,i'm getting a new one. lol I already have to buy a new phone.. now a computer? hah

if ur battery is empty after 1 hour or so, maybe that is the only solution. but first check the eco box :) and there are always settings in the bios that can help saving energy. and sometimes it is better to ignore windows, because sometimes they are a little bit to fast with their judgements...

is ur laptop always on cablepower? if so, that can harm the battery. always use the laptop only on battery, only use cable when it is completely out of energy. otherwise the battery gets damaged.

Ok, and I take the cord out whenever its fully charged (which isnt for long) but then I have to plug it back in after a while which can be annoying...

what kind of laptop is it? do u know how to get in the BIOS? in the BIOS there is always a page with energy management settings.

I don't know the exact laptop model, but I know that its a toshiba satellite. (I'm not home right now). And no.. I don't know how to get there, but I'll google it :D

most of time it is pressing f8 like a madman when the computer boots up :)

of my knowledge, what you did here is BURNT THE GODDAMN BATTERY.
basically, you used it so much to the point its "lasting time" went down quicker then usual.(think of a battery has TWO lives instead of one. one of em being its normal time it lasts and another as its "limit". what you basically did is reduce the limit c:)
so yes, i say replace it o3o

P.S. im only assuming, i can be wrong as hell here.

buying a new battery is expensive for an old laptop, so i should first check out the free options before going over to the money costing stuff :)

and one of that old free tricks is draining ur battery to 0%, so that it wont even boot anymore, and then fully charge it again.
