I miss FiretopGames!!!

Hello everyone,

I've been playing on this server since 1.1 (I quit for sometime though :s) and I've always felt like FireTopGames was the only good server on Minercraft.It was the only server which did feel like its a family!It was the only server which i enjoyed playing MC on.

However,I dont get this feeling towards it anymore I feel like FireTopGames isnt the good old server where it didnt matter who you are,or how good you are at minecraft so you could enjoy it.
The staff and the players where family and it was kind of a closed community!
Everyone was nice there and i never fought with anyone!FireTopGames was my minecraft home!
Today,I got my credit card for my bank account (The only reason which drove me to get a bank account and a credit card account was to donate to FireTopGames) but i have this weird feeling which tells me that donating to the current FireTopGames is like donating to another server!The staff,well the staff arent on so much these days,almost everyone i was used to play on the server with has disappeared and no longer play on the server.

I really dont feel like i like FireTopGames right now.Everyone is leaving,new players are really annoying and hard to deal with :l I feel like the atmosphere of FireTopGames has changed,alot!
The feeling of the excitement i used to experience on FTG is now gone and I feel like i lost my appetite to play on the server.

I really dont know,there are a MILLION thoughts going through my head ATM.I just wanted to know if anyone of the ancient players had that same feeling as I do right now.

And Im really sorry for anyone who I've annoyed by reading this bunch of crap that i wrote above xD!I really had to get that off my chest!

ive been playing since beta 1.7.3 and firetop is just boring and me and hickia have been on the longest on FTG and firetop and its new updates just make the server horrible

That's the thing, no one is telling us what is making it horrible. They just say, 'Oh. Firetop is starting to suck' but they don't tell Joel or any staff what they can do to make it better

I completely agree. New players never read the rules. Plus, they always use caps. For eg. "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I NEED FOOD" or "AHHHH ITS A CREEPER" < I mean wth? Just sprint hit it easy. New players are USUALLY a nuisance. Firetop should get that plugin that requires a new player to type /rule then /rule accept.

times change, some of the players i remember that they started the same as the new ones now. i think we should be happy that we get so much new people. like rustayy says, when you think the server is really going backwards, why don't give good arguments. we can't change the people who come online...

altho this very... disrespectful of me to say, but a lot of these issues come with a cracked server. Yes having it become a premium server would be nice, but theres a lot of people who are actually very nice to be around that didn't buy it (yet). and yeah, that /rule idea seems really good.

For those Firetop Veterans:
Try helping out the server abit more, the feedback is useful. you can also guide other newcomers to the server, rather then just sitting around with enchanted items and such (thats one way you can get ranked). And if you dont want to do any of that, just start anew, completely wipe/torch everything you have, give it away to others whom it may be more useful, and start fresh! or maybe just consider adding a challenge, as in, maybe making all types of colored leather or something (anything to make it more challenging for you). Those are a few suggestions I have, but hey, its up to you.

I wont give up my armir for a reason..... I hate those guys that just go suicide run at you and try to rob you... It so annoying working in TheEnd and people start charging at you none stop... Goo thing is res can freeze them into place and stop them form pestering me

I've been away for a while but i'm back.
I'd have to say the number one issue is, as killa suggested, having a cracked server. It seems to attractive an unsavory element to the server. I know that I experience a ton less griefing on uncracked servers. However, like Killa said, there are many nice players who do have cracked accounts.

My 2nd issue would be that most of the players are quite young. I know i'm an old fogie but these youngins aint go no respect!
Basicly i'm seeing lots of players come on and just ask for things. Whether it be resources, changing time/weather, creating houses for them and basicly holding their hands to the point that were playing for them. I try to point them in the right direction but darnit you kiddies part of the game is learning!....k old man rant done.

These two issues we can't really control. I still like the server. Here are my suggestions for the server:
Where did pvp go? I guess too many people complaining that somebody killed me and didn't give me back my stuf? I really think pvp adds alot but I guess it doesn't really lend itself to the younger demographic who don't know how to res their stuf and properly defend themselves. But I personally really enjoy the danger element that pvp creates. Although i'd love it if we could add a 15 second cooldown to teleporting so that we can't just run away from a fight soon as it starts to go bad and only be able to teleport if at full health.

Increase mob spawn. I'm really not seeing any animals right now and whats minecraft without an animal farm? Furthermore to that affect, animal farms seem to be routinly slaughtered by the server. Not kewl

Another suggestion is that we have two bosses now. Lets use them. Lets set a date. Say friday or saturday night at 9 for example. We have a location that we can spawn to from the spawn. In this location we will have a sort of premade area that the admins/mods will have populated with mobs/mob spawners. Once the mobs are all dead the admins/mods will spawn a wither or a dragon that we all join forces to slay. We do this weekly and it gives us a reason to log on and a reason to make potions, armor, and weapons.
