java is a pain in the as. past few months... i have also problems with it sometimes :/

It's likely not a java issue.

I'd try renaming your .minecraft folder to something else, and relaunching the .exe again, and allow it to download all the files again.

my friend dustbin000 had the same problem. downgrading java to 1.6 and hopes it works :L
